Avramis Despotis has a BSc in Economics from University College London and an MSc in Finance and Banking from the Athens University of Economics. He is a Certified Financial Technician from the International Federation of Technical Analysts, a member of the British Society of Technical Analysts, a certified Futures and Options trader from ADEX and is certified from CySec for Portfolio Management and Own Account Trading.

His extensive trading experience in Foreign Exchange, Money Market, Fixed Income, Commodities, Equities and Derivatives stems from years of trading as an interbank trader. Over the last few years he has taught Technical Analysis, Money Management and Trader Psychology to more than 2,000 traders, mainly in Europe and the Middle East. Clients he has taught include Reuters, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Saxo Bank, Emporiki Bank, Association of Cyprus Banks, Hellenic Bank, Piraeus Bank, National Commercial Bank, Samba, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Dubai Investment Group, Emirates Bank, Gulf Bank, Lukoil, Alpha Bank, National Bank of Dubai, and Grupo Banco Popular among others.
Currently he is the director of PHI Trading Academy (www.phiacademy.com), has his own company developing automated trading systems using technical analysis and algorithms and is prop trading in the forex markets.
